Themobilevet.ca was founded from a desire to understand this bond, develop a closer connection with pets and their families and integrate this for individualized pet care.
Get to know Dr. Marissa Kelso DVM
Dr. Marissa has always been interested in the human/animal bond. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of St. George’s in Grenada in 2016 and completed her clinical year at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. She has been practicing small animal medicine since graduation and has become increasingly interested in wellness and preventative care as well as comfort for senior large breed dogs. Prior to Veterinary School, Dr. Marissa completed a Master's in Neuroscience from Carleton University.
Dr. Marissa was born and raised in Sherbrooke, Qc but frequently visited her grandparents who lived in the Leeds Grenville area. She lives in Kars with her wife, 2 daughters, 3 dogs and 1 cat, all of which you will see on this website.
In her spare time, Dr. Marissa enjoys spending time with her young family, camping, listening to podcasts and continuing to expand her knowledge in the field of veterinary medicine and mental health.
Dr. Marissa is a licensed veterinarian in the province of Ontario through the College of Veterinarians of Ontartio. She is a member of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association. She received her certificate of completion in Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA) Master Program in 2022. Dr. Marissa recently received her certification in Whole Energy Body Balance Program for Pet Practitioner Training and is excited to be able to offer additional preventative treatment options for healthy pets or help those in discomfort.
Dr. Marissa has been offering pets and their parents premium veterinary care as the owner of Rideau River Mobile Veterinary practicing as themobilevet.ca since 2022.
